Can't deal with baby showers/baby talk?

I never thought I'd be that person, and I know it's completely ridiculous, but I have been getting super upset at baby showers and listening to people talk about babies and getting pregnant. Anyone else feel this way too? We've been TTC for 1.5 years, 2 rounds of IUI, unexplained infertility - I'm 32, husband is 38. We're still just starting, but...

I was asked to make desserts for a friend's shower after trying for 1.5 years. definitely hard!

I feel like everyone I know is pregnant! We really just started trying, but I am so impatient. =(

My SIL just told us she's pregnant last week and my DH and I have been trying for over 1.5 years. We have our first IUI without hormones this week and the timing couldn't have been more stressful for me. I have endometriosis and my DH sperm counts are through the roof so I feel like all the pressure is on me. And to top it off they had only been trying 2 months and they told me the same day AF showed up. Talk about emotional! I don't think I handled it very well and now she thinks I'm mad at her. I just can't be around them right now. Not with what we are going through. It makes me feel selfish and I really want to be happy for them and I am, I just wish it was me. Basically what I'm getting at is I know how you feel and I think it's ok to protect yourself and your feelings because no one else will.

I was bad while dealing with my miscarriage... I walked out and cried about the times at my friend's shower. I was a little better at my SIL's I got a little sensitive and went and hung out with my brother and dad at the bar (they got pregnant right when my baby stoped growing, and the shower was a week before my due date). 
It's a process I'm still dealing with, it'll be a year in April and I'm getting too the point of either stop trying or go with treatments. I'll be making an appt soon with my doctor. 
Know you're definitely not alone. And my friend that I mentioned didn't know I was dealing with that until months later and she told me had she known she wouldn't have expected me to go and that she wouldn't have been upset at all. So know you don't have to go to showers if you feel you can't, know you don't have to listen to baby talk. There's always a way out. It's best to look out for yourself. ((Hugs))
