Gabriel is my boyfriend's name. Gabriela  is a girl version of it. Gabe for a boy, gabby for the girl. Maybe he doesn't like Gabriel as a name...

If you pronounce it the way it's said in Spanish it will sound just like Gabrielle, which is a girl name. But it's still a boy name in Spanish.
