Sex after D&C. TMI

I had a d&c ten days ago. I actually start my period 6 days later. My doctor said that she was impressed with how in tune my body was with everything. She still said no sex until she checks me this Thursday. Well, this morning I ended up having sex with my husband and he did finish inside of me. Has anyone not followed doctors order and have unprotected sex? I also didn't want miss my opportunity, I heard you are very fertile after this procedure. Anyone?
