2 day period??

My period normally lasts for 5 days. This month, I started spotting Thursday evening, then had what seemed like a normal period on Friday and half way through Saturday. Then Saturday night it was very light, and today, almost nothing. I only wore a liner. I did some research and saw that, although, not super common, some women can experience heavy, red, IB. Should I take a hpt, or was it just a strange cycle? Ugh.
