What is the best breed dog?

My boyfriend understands I wanna be married before having a child. We been talking about getting married at the court house. I been wanting a new dog breed but unsure so I've suggested a dog instead for right now. I went dog shopping and I am looking at this breed. Any other suggestions? it's been lonely coming home and no dog lol

First *Please adopt* there are lots of breed specific rescues out there.

The best breed for you depend on your lifestyle and personality. Different breeds have different energy levels and needs.

Some larger breeds are content to lounge on a sofa all day. Some breeds are working dogs and need constant stimulation.

So it really depends on what kind of dog you are looking for to fit your lifestyle

We have 2 rescue collies. They are great with our 11 month old daughter.  They lay there while she tumbles over them and plays with their fur.  Collies need lots of excercise, have LOTS of hair, but are great guard dogs and very smart and easy to train. They are large as well; ours weigh 60 and 70 pounds.

Please rescue if you are looking for a dog. There are many breed specific rescues out there if you are set in one. Here is a pic of our cuties.

Chinese crested are amazing dogs. I personally prefer the hairless, but powderpuffs have great personalities too.

German Shepherd owner here. Always had rescue ones! My first hated kids due to being cruelly treated but nannied my son from the day he was born till he passed away. He would come and find me if the baby cried or was up to mischief, and slept next to the cot / bed every day. My latest boy saved my son, aged 12 at the time, last year from drowning in a massive pond! He came second in a UK national animal bravery award this year!

Gsds are brill  family dogs, protective, guard the house and will herd unruly kids up if needed. I'd never have another breed. They are also big softies if brought up right and trained well and love being couch potatoes!
