I'll be honest... less toys sometimes is more beneficial! Books, pots and pans with a wooden spoon will get you verrrrrrry far!! Plastic cups and bowls... mine when they were younger (now 9&10) played in the kitchen when a cabinet that was "safe" to play with and until toddler age this sufficed!! Imagination is the best for them. Don't worry about spending your money on elaborate toys that they are only going to play with an lose interest with in no time! Enjoy one on one time and let them explore their hands feet and voice :)
how many toys does a baby need?
I currently only have a few toys for my LO partially because I live in a small apartment and partially because my LO is 6 months old and rotating 4-5 small items seems to be working out right now. I'm concerned in the coming months when she needs more stimulation and this handful of toys is not going to cut it. I don't want her to miss out on the developmental advantages from learning through play but at the same time I don't want her to grow up feeling entitled to everything she wants. How are other moms striking a balance or at this age is there no such thing as too many toys?
