safe for newborn to sleep in pack n play?

Do you think it's safe for a newborn to sleep in a bassinet portion of a pack n play for a few months? And do you recommend it from experience? We're buying a crib but I would love for the baby to sleep in our room to start out with and we already have a pack n play

That's where my newborn sleeps...... jotting but him swaddled  in there

That's where I'm putting mine while he's still in my room. The changing table part flips over and hangs off the side, but I don't see it being processed problematic until he's a bit bigger..then I'll keep it flipped open when not in use.

It also has a changing table on half of it. Should I take it off before putting baby in the bassinet? I didn't know since they don't move a whole lot at first

Yes it's better than a regular bassinet.
