Haven't been to the dentist in over 4+ years...
I am now 19.
My mom was a dental assistant, so you think she would have made an appointment? No. Not for over 4 years...
When I was under 18 I just thought I couldn't make the appointment due to being a minor.
I have kept asking and my parents always say they will.
I live at home now. I did one year of college and am starting college in August.
I brush everyday. For one minute, maybe 2 times a day. I use a SOFT bristled brush and never brush hard. About a month ago, why gums have started to bleed. Sometimes it's bad, sometimes it's not too bad.
I just brushed my teeth and my spit was red. Not like dripping purw blood, but the toothpaste turned red and pink.
I can't do this anymore. They told me they are getting more money for insurance? My father works full time and my mom doesn't work. They say they haven't gone for a while.
I just need to go to a dentist. . .
It makes me so sad to have my health downgraded for who knows what reason.
In fact, less teeth cleanings cause tarter and plaque build up, which in return causes more cavities and fillings needed, which is more expensive in the long run.
I looked up volunteer run dentist help and they go by a sliding scale. I am saving up for nursing school and have rent coming up so they would pay for it.
My teeth are overall otherwise fine. No pain or anything.
I am balling while writing this... What do I do? Make an appointment at the normal dentist in town that I usually went to or do I make an appointment to the sliding scale one that is 1 hour away?
Thank you... 😔
