how soon is to soon?!

How soon is to soon to start trying for baby #2? Just had my first baby but I already want to be pregnant again! So looking for opinions on what age you think is good for the first baby to be before #2 arrives 😊

Most physicians recommend waiting at least 18 months before getting pregnant again as your body just went through a major trauma and needs time to heal inside and out physically, mentally, and at a hormonal level.

Dont do what i did!! I had one april 2012 and one April 2013. I suppose it was manageable until i had to deal eith terrible 2's for 2 consecutive years, even now with 5 and 4 year old partners in crime, is hard damn work!!

I got pregnant at 7 mos pp. if you had a section they def recommend waiting a little while because of the healing process.

I was told in psychology class that having less four year age gap increases the chances of mental illness significantly but I would sssume that that wasn't adjusted for things like class, ethnicity, religion etc. Speaking from experience (my children have a one year age gap) it's very hard having two little ones that are very close in age but the most difficult part (waking up st night, changing nappies, little independence) is over much quicker. I think it mostly depends on the children. It worked quite well for us because the eldest was very keen on babies and very fond of his little brother from the beginning. The little one was very chilled out (especially in comparison to older one) and picked up most behavioural things very quickly, was less clingy. /'slept better and so on so not my having my undivided attention wasn't a problem. I suffered a bit though, I really needed more help than I got. I would only do it if you have a lot of support.

I've heard that 2 under 2 is a challenge! But if you want another I'd just clear it with your doctor that you're body is ready!

Aside from the challenge of raising two little ones factor in health. Speak with your doctor about what is recommended for your and future baby's health. I think it's normal to miss being pregnant and get baby fever after you have your lo.
