When is it okay to have Sex with a new Boyfriend/Girlfriend?

I just became a girlfriend to a new guy but we've dated exclusively for over a month and we just made it official Saturday! But my concern is since I went through a lot in my past with being raped not once but a couple of times I make my partner wait at least another month until I'm trusting of them. Am I wrong?? Or should I have sex whenever? I don't wanna come off as a whore to you guys but I'm just very guarded and was curious.
