37 week check up no cervix check....any one else???

I went in today for my check up...no cervix check....GBS came back positive...ive been feeling light Cramping off and on since...and i keep seing felcks of what looks like my mucus plug when i pee but nothing when i whipe... i have great blood pressure but im just worried why aren't they checking me??

Since you're gbs positive they're going to be less inclined to check you because they don't want to introduce the bacteria anywhere close to baby. I was gbs positive with my second and they refused to break my water for the same reason. Honestly how dilated you are doesn't mean a lot until you're really in labor. My oldest I was fully effaced, 3 cm, bag bulging for 4 weeks and had to be induced... Lol

Honestly you don't even need to be checked until labor. Before hand could just be for peace of mind. Many women choose to have little to no checks and even to have them less frequently than the norm during labor itself.

My doctors office isn't keen on checking. I am 37+3 and haven't been checked and it hasn't been mentioned. I asked and they told me they don't like to poke and prod unless it is necessary. That and you can be soft and dilated for weeks.

Maybe at your next appt just ask to be checked. I was at my 35.5 appt and was getting the testing done and my doctor said if I wanted her to check she would but didn't have to.. Glad I did as I found out I'm 3cm 60% thinned but I'll be 37wks tomorrow and still the same. Best of luck

I've had 2 babies before and have never had my cervix checked at any point in pregnancy, until I'm actually in labour. It's just unnecessary unless you have a previous diagnosed problem with the cervix. If you're in labour, you will know, then they'll go in and see how dilated you are. Until then, it's best to relax and trust your body knows what to do. It'll be ok.

They are still supposed to check you tho to make sure your not dilating... They are supposed to check you when you are close to your due date...
