how do I get the birth control pill?

I live in Australia and I want to go on the pill but I'm not sure how to. I'm 18 and I feel weird asking my mum. My boyfriend say he will come with me to the after hours doctors and I ask the doctor there? I don't feel comfortable doing it at all...

I live in Australia too, and I just went to the doctors and told them I would like to go on the pill. They just asked why, took my blood pressure and explained it to me. Then I got a prescription and I just have to go back once a year to get a repeat. I was 16 at the time and my mum took me but your 18 so you can go alone and don't need parental permission so if you don't want you, don't even need to tell your mum :-)
