For or against living for ever?

Some scientist are trying to figure out how to makes humans life forever or like 1000+ years.  Are you for or against this?

I don't know how anyone is for this, overpopulation would be crazy and the earth would be gone to crap! There's a natural progression in things and some things we shouldn't tamper with.

I wouldn't wanna live forever, but living for 1,000 years would be awesome IF certain factors were met:

1) I'd wanna remain in the prime of my life. Growing brittle and helpless sucks. It's like you're trapped in your own body at that point.

2) I'd wanna regenerate like Wolverine - cuz with my luck I'd be granted 1,000 years of life and then shit would happen and I'd get my leg blown off and then I gatta live the next 1,000 years with the nickname "gimpy". So if Wolverine-like regeneration powers aren't involved then fuck that.

Otherwise, I'd love it :)

Does everyone hate living that much to be given an opportunity at this time in our lives when we are healthy and able to live longer? I love my life, I love earth, I love people, I love nature. Why wouldn't you want to enjoy it all for a longer time? As medicine improves we will start to live longer anyway and eventually stem cell therapy will be at the forefront of medicine which will enable us to heal cells and well, live a very long time. I'm not really sure why everyone is so scared to live longer. I'd embrace it for sure!

If you want to live forever, more power to you. I want death. It's the only certainty in this life, and I find comfort in that.

Against. I want to have a positive impact in people's lives and in the world, and have that memory or legacy live on. I dont want to be super old and frail and just be taking up space that would be better used by someone younger. Imagine being THAT old and just being a burden. I dont want to be a waste of space.

I wouldn't mind living for an extended period of time to see what the world would be like after I would have been long gone. Not to mention extra time to see all of the world. Just as long as there is a way I can die in case everything turns to total shit.
