He's One weeks old and some days and it just fell off.. it got caught on to my shirt and it gooey inside .. Im just wondering if this is normal?

My son's did something similar to that like just the top of it came off ( gross lol) but he was 3 weeks at the time and it still hadn't come off so we went to the doctor and they put silver nitrate on it to dry it up

If it's gooey, it's infected. Clean it with disinfecting wipes.
