My bf wants us to not have sex...

So my bf has been thinking and thinks we shouldn't have sex till we get our own place and I'm working cuz he doesnt want me getting accidentally pregnant while living at home and him at home. Well of course I think maybe he's not attracted to me or maybe he's attracted to someone else or something but he says thats no the case and he's never given me a reason to think he'd cheat but idk why it's a problem now when before it wasnt. Do I have the right to be upset a bit or annoyed? Its stupid to me cuz there are ways to prevent pregnancy but he says that doesnt always work and idk sounds like excuses to me or is he being reasonable and I'm overreacting?
