I personally don't. Curiosity isn't what killed the cat. It was what gave that 15 year old gonnorhea and that 16 year old pregnant. Opinions?

Knowing about stds and contraception in essential regardless of whether you wait until marriage or not (yes that's right folks-not everyone who is married can have an infinite number of children and not everyone who waited Is married to someone else who waited).

Ignorance isn't a good form of education. Teenagers will have sex regardless. They should know how it works, how to do it safely, the consequences, etc. a lot of the questions that get asked here is an example of how bad our sex education is at schools. Abstinence only has been proven to not work.

Ineffective and causes many problems in areas that exclusively have it. Higher teen pregnancy rates, higher std rates, ect. Comprehensive sex education is shown to be more effective and informative by far. Abstinence only programs lack informative education and often use tactics that shame people particularly girls.

Its been proven time and time again that it doesn't work. Ignorance is not bliss. Ignorance is going to get these kids pregnant and spread STDs. If you teach your kids abstinence only, don't be surprised when your kids end up infertile due to an STD or end up with something incurable or accidentally get pregnant. When you fail to educate your children on something that is vital, that they absolutely have to know about, you fail as a parent.

People are going to have sex , it's a natural thing . The only thing a abstinence education does is keep them ignorant from safe sex or situations that come up .

Abstinence should be talked about, BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY.

Telling kids not to have sex doesn't work. It may help sometimes, but they need to know about options for IF THEY DO HAVE SEX.

My boyfriends Sex ed was:

"No sex! It's bad you'll get pregnant and die (legit like the mean girls movie, I shit you not). Oh and gays are bad and need to be taught to not to be gay"

Legit all they learned... wonder why 6 of their students ages 13-18 were pregnant versus our 2.

Ours had 1 slide on abstinence. The rest was about how to have safe sex. How to know if you have an STI. What you can do in case of an unplanned pregnancy.

The talked about pregnancy, adoption, abortion, dental dams, condoms, birth control (pill, patch, IUD), LGBT+ community, STI's and very little abstinence.
