Were you induced?

Okay, so I have 11 days left until my due date!! (How exciting and terrifying!!!)
I had my weekly appointment today, and my cervix has actually closed a bit (I was at a 2, now she says I'm barely dilated at all)
I think my doctor can see how ready I am to have him because she said at my next appointment, we can pick a date to induce.
I do prefer it this way because I would like to have a plan in place- but I've heard that when you're induced, there's like 95% chance of a really hard labor.

Induction without a medical reason isn't recommended until 42 weeks. There's research backing this and evidence based care is important.

Make an informed decision. Understand the risks of induction. Especially an elective one with a low Bishops score. Understand each intervention that comes along with an induction. Understand how your body reacts to oxytocin and spontaneous labor vs pitocin and a medical induction.

This is the Cascade of Interventions. Your chance of cesarean birth increases almost quadruple with an induction.

I was induced at 39 weeks because of gestational hypertension. It started with the foley balloon then slowly increased pitocin until my contractions mimicked spontaneous labor. The entire induction took 13 hours. My water broke on its own and I immediately went into active labor for 4 hours. Went from 6 to 10 cm in 20 minutes and pushed for 10 minutes. I delivered without pain medication. Overall it was a very smooth process. Not that I want to be induced again but I was very happy with how it went and in the end our daughter was perfect!

I was induced last week and had 12 hours of strong contractions with no change in my cervix and they ended up sending me home, I go back Friday for another check but told them I didn't want to be induced again unless I had progressed some on my own. For my first child I went into labor on my own and then plateaued so they gave me potocin and that helped move things along, in addition to breaking my water. I guess my question to your doctor would be to make sure you have a "favorable" cervix prior to inducing! Best wishes!
