weird bloodish discharge before period??

I'm 2 days late for my period (but that always happens) and last night I got this weird discharge kind of with a bit of blood...  It wasn't full period blood it was literally the normal clear discharge but with a bit of a red tint to it it looked almost like a rose wine? Has this ever happened to anyone else? Is it some kind of spotting? I've never had spotting before so I don't really know how it looks like... also I can't be pregnant because I'm a virgin so that's pretty much out of the frame
