Freezer Meals?

Question

When should I start making freezer meals? I'm 34+4 today. I know they last a long time but I really don't want to freeze food longer than I have to. Also my husband should be home the first 10 days after I give birth. So should I ask him to make the meals during that time so they last longer and have fresh food during that time? I don't have any friends or family nearby so any food has to be made by us.

I did a bunch of freezer meal cooking about 3 weeks before my due date. Stocked the freezer to the brim. It was wonderful to have nice healthy and yummy meals that we just had to warm up!

Depends, does your husband cook well? Mine doesn't, so even though he's home everyday around dinner I'm still going to use them. I'm going to start making mine around 34 or 35 weeks. They should be more than fine until 6 months or so, even longer in a deep freeze, so you can start now! Maybe do so many per week until you deliver, so you aren't spending a ton of time prepping them and at the grocery store at once.

Definitely go do a good grocery shop around 36 - 37 weeks. Stock up! Loll get things you can easily throw together. Make maybe a week-2 weeks worth of freezer meals. I felt after 2 weeks I was back to myself, and I was able to cook again. But eveyone is different of course. But having a stocked fridge pantry and freezer helped me so much. I would start prepping after you shop.
