when did you guys announce pregnancy to family ?

My SO and I really just got into a argument, because I told him its recommend not to announce pregnancy until after the first trimester about 3 or 4 months into the pregnancy and he told me he's not going to do that he's telling his family right away which really pissed me off because I had a miscarriage early into my pregnancy and he told his family which made it awkward.

I told my close family and friends by 5 weeks.... I would tell them even if I miscarried, so I wasn't concerned... we were too excited not to tell.  I'm not telling anyone else for a few more weeks since I'm 8 weeks now.

I would wait 3-4 months, like recommended. Sadly, miscarriages are common in early pregnancies. Make sure you take your prenatal vitamins & good care of your body ❤

I'd tell close family pretty much as soon as I find out and friends and other family can wait till after the first trimester, I had a miscarriage and didn't tell anyone I was pregnant and I wish I did because I didn't have anyone to talk about it with

We told our parents, siblings, and closest friends at 5-6 weeks. We knew there was a chance of miscarriage, but those were the people I would have wanted support from if a miscarriage occurred anyway. I made a post on Facebook at 11 weeks, 5 days after I had my 12 week appointment.

I told my family immediately as well as my husband because if anything was to happen they would be the first person to know. They're going to be the ones who's there for you when you need them. Friends can wait until like 20 weeks. That's just how we feel.

We waited a week to tell family and close friends. The only reason we waited was because Mother's Day was coming up and I wanted to announce that weekend. I would suggest telling people who are your support system.. the ones you go to with all your good and bad news. My coworkers didn't find out until I was 10 weeks, when I had my ultrasound.

I told my grandmother the day I found out. I told my mom a week or so later so around 10 or 11 weeks and I told the rest of my family the same day. But my SO didn't tell any of his family until 5 or 6 months. We weren't married and we were both embarrassed because we hadn't met our families yet. But I heard it's best to wait until the second trimester if you've had problems or if there's any risk!

Personally I would wait to tell my family until after 3 months. But I agree with the other people who are saying that tell your close family, aka mom and dad and sisters and brothers early means you have a support system in case God forbid you do have a miscarriage.

Ugh wtf. I made my husband and I wait just Incase something like that would happen to US, (god forbid) and he agreed. I agree with waiting.

My husband and I were excited and told our parents the same day we took a test. 
They're not oblivious to the risk, and have been checking in on us often and making sure I feel good. 
We live 1200 miles away from family and this our first.

You tell when you're comfortable, we're not telling others until after the first trimester.
