I don't understand this post, what does this mean for my friend? That he was found not guilty? Thanks in advance.

When someone is found not guilty due to reasons of insanity it means they wont go to jail or prison, but theyll probably go to a mental institution. I dont think the charges will be on his/her record but im not sure. But prayers for you and your friend! Doesnt sound like a good situation ☹️

He'll be on KROL status... not guilty by reason of insanity. He'll be on krol status for however long his jail sentence would have been. He'll mostly spend some time in a psych hospital until stabilized. And then once released he'll be required to go to court every few months to check in and to make sure he's doing everything he's supposed to do, persons doctors and any professional involved will be required to appear in court. I've worked w several krol status with my job. One person is on krol for life for her crime.... so every year she has to go to court. Doctors are there to give an update. And someone else I work with, he's only on krol for 12 yrs for his crime (he would have had a 12 yr jail sentence)  And the crime is on their record.
