Possible PCOS

I just went to the doctor's today (I forget the specialized name but it was an adolescent health based clinic). I got an examination, they asked the typical questions about periods..and I haven't had mine in my usual 3-month time span. Now before you go on and talk about how 3-months is irregular—I know. I've known that for a little while now and my mom and I decided to wait and see if the time span was only due to stress of school..and all that jazz. But, regardless, the doctor told my mom and I that I would most-likely have PCOS (Polycistic Ovarian Syndrome). It is not confirmed yet because the blood work I had done this afternoon won't see any results for about 10 days max. I'm still panicking about it right now and have been bawling my eyes out in my room away from my parents. I'm 17 years old and I never through that I would get something like this..and I never even knew about this syndrome.
