I have a mix of about 20 newborn size and 0-3 months size. As a mom of six going on seven, I can tell you that you can never be prepared!! I had a preemie (34 weeks induced because of low amniotic fluid) and she was 7 pounds!! Never got to wear the preemie clothes I bought for her lol (I was told on a Wednesday that I was going to be induced on Friday so I spent Thursday getting preemie clothes). I had baby at 37 weeks and she was 5 pounds!!! I had to buy preemie clothes for her. She wore preemie for 2-3 months. 
It's good to have a fair mix. I even have some 3-6, 6 months, 6-9, 9 months, and some 9-12/12 months clothes for my boy.

Everyone has been giving me clothes and I bought some that I really liked, I now have about 50 onesies and outfits in each size up to 2t 😳 I guess she'll just have a different outfit to wear everyday

I have abOut 6-8 NB onsies and 2 outfits. The rest are 0-3 and 3 month. Since I know he won't be in them too long.
