Best birth control option for women with mental illness???

I have been diagnosed with CPTSD, and I have suffered from severe depression/panic attacks because of it. I was in the pill as a teen ager, and don't remember any crazy side effects, but I am not the best at taking it at the exact same time every day! I was on the Depo for a while, and it made me crazy. Constantly panicky and massive depressive spells. Please help!

You really should just ask your doctor.
 They'd know best, and it depends on what medications you're taking now.

Okay so
I have diagnosed depression and anxiety and I have panic attacks and I took pills for awhile. Turns out in some cases like mine it can worsen feelings of depression and sadness. I would NOT recommend pills

I'd say ask your doctor about non hormonal IUDs! Anything with hormones would be risky if you struggle with mental illness.

I'd say the copper iud, any hormonal birth control messes with my emotions a lot and makes my anxiety really bad.

I have severe depression, anxiety and ptsd. I've never had birth control make it worse. But iuds don't effect your mood as much because the hormones stay in your uterus instead of your blood stream
