how many newborn outfits is it good to get ?

I'm a ftm so I'm very lost ! I'm 30 weeks and have only gained 9 pounds , so I think I'm having a baby more on the small side?. I bought 6 sleepers & 7 onesies , 1 set of onsie with sweats and jacket and a coming home outfit. Did I go overboard with the newborn size ? I have plenty 0-3 months from my babyshower so I didn't buy any other sizes

Even though you're not gaining much weight baby might be. I wouldn't buy too much of anything new born because you never know how big they might be & you don't want to waste your money. What you have now is fine. Buy more if needed when they get here

I would say that's plenty, unless you choose to buy more and save receipts in case you don't need them. My daughter was only 2 days early but 5.5 lbs and I ended up having to run out to get preemie clothes and then more newborn. It's hard to prepare when you don't know how small or big they will be.

Maybe buy some secondhand ones? I got like 3 boxes of newborn stuff donated to me plus a bunch from my baby shower so I'm not really an expert on this. What I CAN say is that my son was born at 41 weeks, 7lb 10oz, 21", and wore newborn clothes for about a month and a half. People have a lot of opinions about this, mostly based on personal experience...it worked for me to have more, because I didn't want to be doing laundry with excessive frequency. I hate laundry and once a week is more than enough for me. Plus again, he was in newborn sizes for a good amount of time. He wore almost everything at least once.

That's a fine size. However in my family the babies run bigger, so it's smarter to buy clothes that aremonths in  advance that they can still grow into.
