Hypertrophic scarring???

Question

Does the small bump at the bottom of my piercing look like hypertrophic scarring or a growing keloid? I just got it on April 8th. Thank you for any help!! I'm going to the dermatologist next week to get it checked out but I can't stopped worrying about it ☹️

It looks more like an infection. My industrial did that on the inside and I started using alcohol to clean it instead of saltwater and it went away 🤷🏻‍♀️

It could possibly be either but it could also just be an infection. Don't take the piercing out and clean it with saline solution 2-3 times a day. Go to your piercer and check

Daiths are one of the hardest to heal! I got mine about 2-3months ago and am still having issues but I'm sure it's because they take anywhere from 8-12 months to be truly healed . Mine did the same thing, it is probably just infected on the inside. I used hydrogen peroxide on mine to treat the infection and it has gone down. Don't worry too much, my piercer said that most people who get this done gets infection.

There is a pinned post at the top of this group. To me, it looks like a hypertrophic scar. Because it's near the piercingsite and hasn't got too big yet. However if it continues to grow it would most likely be a keloid. In that pinned topic it gives some treatments that would help a hypertrophic.

Don't go to a dermatologist first, go to your PIERCER first. They've seen many keloids + hypertrophic. They'll recommend you go visit a doctor/dermatologist if it is a keloid
