I think we have thrush?

I have itchy red patches on my breasts, and my son has white bumpy patches on his tongue that don't rub away. Do we have to go to the doctor or does it just go away?

That's thrush. Boil wash everything including your bras, sheets, shirts, etc and pacifiers. It will keep coming back unfortunately so get it treated right away and don't stop treating when symptoms dissapear, finish the course of meds. My babe had antibiotic drops for 4 weeks and I had a nipple cream and a one off antibiotic (diflucan), but we are on our third case of it now. Also taking probiotics. Good luck!!

It will not just go away. If you're into natural remedies use gentian violet 3xs a day for 4-7 days on his mouth & your nipples. Take probotics & give him a baby probotic (forever when breastfeeding ) cut white flours & sweets & cheeses.  Wipe your nipples after eat feeding with apple cider vinegar. Use coconut oil between feedings on nipples & take grapefruit seed extract as well as garlic & vitamin c to boost your immune system.

That's definitely thrush and the yeast will not go away without medicine it will get worse for you ending in a breast infection and will go more in baby's mouth causing pain and not being able to eat. So call your pediatrician and you contact your obgyn
