boyfriends daughter?

I've started dating a new guy recently and he has a 4 year old little girl. I'm really into this guy and I'm super nervous about meeting his daughter. I am not a mother but I've always wanted to be and I'm really good with children, so I'm not sure why it makes me so nervous. Any advice?

When my husband and I got together his daughter was about 7 months old. She's going to be 4 next month. I was super nervous about meeting her because I was also meeting her mother at the same time. It wasn't too bad. Let her get comfortable around you and maybe offer to play with her with some of her toys. Ask your boyfriend if you could get her a present or something, a favorite snack you two can share. It also depends on how open she is with new people. It might help her open up a bit  if you do things that she likes to do. Watch a favorite movie. But definitely ask your boyfriend what he thinks would work as well. Good luck!
