Do you think that parents should put their children on birth control if they ask

There's been quite a bit of debate about this on here lately. I feel like if the teen wants to have sex, they will anyways. Hell, I know I did

Yes. Yes yes yes. My mom flat out refuses to put me on birth control cause she thinks it makes kids go out and have sex.

I have had sex. She knows this already. But still won't put me on it. So my stepmom took matters into her own hands and I'm getting some this summer.

Believe it or not, I don't want birth control for sexual reasons. I want it becuase of my period cramps (what does my birth mom think of this? "You're just a wuss")

If kids are asking for sexual reasons they've probably already done it or are going to.

IF YOU DONT WANT YOUR TEEN PREGNANT WHY NOT JUST PUT THEM ON IT?!?

I plan on having a box of condoms in my house for my kids, as well as offering birth control for the girls when they turn 13/14/15 (whenever there doctor okays it and they WANT it).

Personally I kind of blame parents who's teens get pregnant after the teen asked for birth control 🤷🏼‍♀️

You can help prevent teen pregnancy, or make their periods easier. So why refuse it?

If they are openly asking for help, why wouldn't I? I'd get my child all set up with birth control. However, I think condoms are something that need to be bought by the users themselves.

I'm Muslim, and premarital sex is against our religion, so as long as my husband and I do our job right and teach her islam, then it's not something we'd have to worry about. That was the case with me and my 2 sisters as well. We never needed it. I'm now 23, happily married for 2 years, and expecting our first baby in 43 days 😊 I've still never taken birth control, and I'm hoping I can avoid it entirely because I just don't want to take it

I don't care what others do but for me, no. A child asks for many things. That doesn't mean they will get everything they ask for. As long as a child is a child living under my roof it will be my house, my rules. Not sure how everyone else parents their kids but we plan to teach our kids to respect our authority as parents and we get the final say. And our kids will not mix with other kids who don't share the same high moral standards so chances are they won't be corrupted. That's how my parents raised us, all my friends were like minded, so I've never been pressured into doing what I knew to be wrong. Same path for our kids.

Yes. Absolutely. Safe sex always. I know what happens with teenagers and I'm not going to assume my kid won't be like me and their dad were 😂. I would but condoms once she gets a boyfriend as a "you don't have to use them, but they're in the bathroom just in case." And then leave it at that. If she came to me wanting birth control I would go but stress she needs to get her first culture/breast exam/etc and lay into her that this needs to be done every year especially if she's sexually active.

I would put my daughter on birth control even if she didn't ask just as a precaution. Thank goodness I'm having a boy & yes he will be receiving shoe boxes full of condoms without having to ask at some point. I want my kids to feel comfortable talking to me about sex & relationships, I also want them to be responsible & know how to take care of themselves.

My mother put me on birth control when I was 15-17 and I thank her every single day for that!! I was crazy and ended up not being a teen pregnant! Teens have sex, mostly not the smart way either. Doesn't matter how much control you think you have over your daughter. I will be doing the same in the future with our daughter(s) when I find out they are sexually active.

None of the women in my familys bodies can handle BC. All of us tried and had to atop taking every kind. So id only say no because theyd be to young to mess uo there hormones and bodies that way and if they wanted to risk the harm to themselveswhen they are 18 then they can try then. If i could have a gaurantee it wouodnt effect them then id say yes cuz kids will do what they want. But for our family history, ill be saying no.

If your child asks and you refuse you are a negligent parent. Even children have a right to access of health care. I do not promote or encourage underage sex. I also think it's crazy not to fully inform children about sex, sexual health, reproduction and contraception. And if your kid asks it's bc they are having or will have sex.

If I ever have a daughter and she came to me asking to go birth control, I'd set it up for her, like book a doctor's appointment and stuff. However whatever you do DO NOT force the child/teenager to go on birth control just to prevent them from getting pregnant. Take from me (I'm almost 19 and I was forced onto it- I'm on it now but only because that's what I want) 
Anyway, what I am getting at here is if you force it onto them just so they don't get pregnant, they're going to rebel and do it anyway. My thoughts were, well they think I'm going to have sex, so I might as well.
