can you get pregnant after a D&C before you get your period? even if you still have hcg in your system?

3 weeks after my D&C I had my post op appointment. They did a pregnancy test there and I had a very faint positive. The dr told me to test again in two weeks to be sure the hormone was out of my system. I wasn't planning on having unprotected sex before the 2 weeks were up! But things happen so I'm wondering is it possible to get pregnant again during this time?

Probably not while there's HCG left over. Once it's gone, then you certainly can ovulate before your next period, but some women don't. I would just see how the test comes out before you worry.

I got a positive ovulation test 2 weeks after I miscarried. But also had faint positive pregnancy test at the same time. And I got pregnant

Yes. If you ovulate, you can become pregnant again. Some people will ovulate before the next period but with such still detected, it is less likely.
