Spotting after TTC??

Hey guys! So my fiancé and I are trying for our FIRST baby! We're on our 3rd month of trying... Saturday I began spotting dark blood early in the day and later it turned into actual blood. However at 2:30am Sunday night (we drove out of town over night) I had no trace of blood and I haven't spotted since... I was so upset I thought I started my period.. has this happened to anyone else while TTC??
