Should baby have my last name?

My first baby has his dad's last name because he said that if I don't make my son have his last name, he won't be in his life, or sign the birth certificate. And I regret it. I wish he had my last name. Now I'm on baby #2, and baby's dad (different dad than #1) hates me. We don't talk at all but he claims he'll be here for baby (Though he refuses to go to any appointments or ultrasound). Should baby have my last name? Or his?
