Strange discharge...

So I stopped taking my birth control about a 5-6 weeks ago and I've been waiting to get my period and today I wiped myself with a baby wipe and there was specks of flakey blood. It didn't smear like regular blood. It's dry blood. I then tried to use the toilet to see if wet blood would come out and none did. What does this discharge mean?
