So I've been dating my boyfriend for a little over a year now and a few months ago, I very nearly ended the relationship due to the fact that he is pretty controlling and he had been keeping a secret from me (which I won't share). He begged me to give him another chance so I did and things were really good for a few months, but he started going back to being pretty mean again so I tried to actually end things this time and he got very nasty and said some horrible things to me (which I also won't share) pushing things I had confided in him in my face and making fun of me for them. He begged me again afterwards for another chance saying that he would actually change this time, but I just don't know if I should try again or even if I could. He just seems like he does actually want to change this time. I just don't know what to do. Thoughts or tips?
