can the gynecologist tell if I've had sex?

I'm going to get birth control and I'm not sure exactly what they do. Do they check to see if I've ever had sex or when I last had sex? If they do idk that this is going to go over well. My dad will probably be taking me.

They can't tell if you've had sex but they will ask you. Honestly your dad has no business being in the room during that kind of appointment, the doctor will probably mention to him that people usually wait in the waiting room.

Your dad won't be in the room with you so it won't matter. Have him stay in the waiting room. You need to be able to talk to your doctor comfortably

Your dad does not need to be in the room for that, I honestly I find that really inappropriate if he were. I would be mortified and concerned if my dad wanted to be in the room for that. The doctor will ask you and it's best for you to be honest with them.

If you're under 18, they'll ask your dad to step out. That's what they did for me when my mom took me in while I was a teenager

When I didn't have my license, my dad drove me, but NEVER went in with me. I never minded my mom going in with me when she could take me (parents are divorced. So they split driving me around) but my dad never went into my gyno appts. Your dad should understand if you don't want him in there. You can even request an extra nurse to be in there with you and your doctor. I wouldn't want my husband to feel like he had to go into our daughter's appts when her time comes.
