When to share the news

Got my BFP today at 16 days late. When do you start to tell parents and grandparents?? I go to the doctor next Friday!

Do it at least 15 weeks in cuz most times woman miscarry and tell there family the good news. Then late they have to tell them the bad news....

Was this your first time testing or were you just getting negatives until now?

I told my family when I was 11 weeks which happened to be at Christmas! If there hadn't been a holiday coming up I might've done it earlier but probably not. The risk of miscarriage goes down drastically at 12 weeks so a lot of people wait until then!

Would you mind sharing if you had been testing and getting negatives before finally getting your BFP? Or did you not test until that point?

I'm 6 weeks tomorrow and waiting until af least 12 for my family.  May be nice to go a little longer but we shall see what our scans say

Whenever you're ready. I told my family super early cause I wanted to announce on Christmas.

Congrats, wonderful news! Maybe tell people but obv it's very early days! May I ask what your symptoms are as I'm 6 days late but I keep getting negatives!! Xx

We will tell our immediate family as soon as we find out,  but tell them to not say anything on social media or to anyone else. We want the chance to tell our friends and extended family on our own, but I also won't want to have to tell people I don't really know if I miscarry. So we won't announce on social media until about 14+ weeks.
I'd say tell only the people you trust the most with your new little secret and wait to tell those who are more like acquaintances later on.
