how early is everyone taking there maternity leave?

Is 6 weeks before too early? I went into labour two weeks early on my son

I'm going to work until I can't anymore. The longer you work the longer that six weeks will be when baby is actually born.

I'm so jealous of other countries maternity leave :( 
The law states that we have to be given 12 weeks in the US without penalty of job loss however they get ways around that. Also unless a dr. Deems us unsafe to work we can't take off until we pop. Which means no time to prepare literally working up until baby comes and coming back at 12 weeks is just too early. It's sad how our country is when it comes to some things.

I have a year off for maternity leave I plan on leaving when I'm 8 months along as I know I'll be very tired and have things to prepare at home for the arrival of the new baby

I'd like to work til my water breaks but I'm due December 3 and planning on my last day to be November 21st for some down time prior unless my doctor says otherwise.

Unfortunately many women in the States don't get a lot of time. My last pregnancy, I had complications that put me on bedrest at 35 weeks but was fortunate enough to have bought into my short term disability plan I was able to take 12 weeks paid and 6 unpaid.

I'm leaving my job in a few weeks to become a SAHM.

My work is giving me 6 weeks I can go 12 but mine's not even paid leave and 12 weeks without a check is to long so I want to work till I no longer can

I'm planning on taking my leave at 35 weeks and coming back 4 weeks after giving birth. My maternity leave isn't paid and I work my shifts alone so I'm not risking going into labor at work.
