My stepdaughter walked on her first birthday and my daughter walked the day she turned 9 months.

My daughter is 15 months and doesn't walk much at all. Just a few steps whenever she feels like it. She has never crawled. She just "butt scoots" everywhere or holds onto the furniture. The pediatrician said sometimes the first baby doesn't walk as early because they don't have siblings to chase after.

All children are different. Our son started crawling at 5 months and taking steps at 7 but didn't fully get the hang of walking until 11 months.
