How do you write your dates?

I just noticed how irritating I find it when people write month followed by day. How do you write it and do you find it annoying when you see it in the other format?

The entire world but the US writes it as DD/MM/YYYY, as always lol Just why??? How in the world putting month before the day makes sense?

It works when writing the months in letters, but the OP said DD/MM/YYYY. ERGO we're talking numbers here.

OH AMERICANS AND THEIR WRONG WAYS OF DOING BASIC STUFF

I don't think we do things the wrong way. Just a different way.

But why should you have to flip the date format when you file things. That's just extra 😅😂

That would be useful if we had many years to document, but usually everything is within a year or two, making the year an afterthought.

Month day year. So, today would me 06/25/17 or June 25th. Lol people saying that America is "wrong" for doing that. It's not wrong, neither way is wrong. It's just what you grew up learning.

Depends on where you are from. Europe is usually DD/MM/YYYY but the US is MM/DD/YYYY

If you're from anywhere except America you'll be using the correct DDMMYY method

Honestly, I'm getting offended by everyone saying we do it wrong. The only reason I do it that way was because that's how I was taught. It's just kind of a tradition I guess

As far as I know, only American's write the month first. I don't understand that.

True, if you were raised to say it longer then u were just raised to say it longer. But it's faster and easier logically to eliminate the "Of" part and just say June 25th. Saves time and effort. 😅

zöie 🐾 • Jun 27, 2017
No, either way you look at it, June 25th is shorter than the 25th of June so it's therefore easier and more convenient to say.

It's easier to just say June 25th instead of "the 25th of june"

DD/MM/YYYY I think it's only the other way in the States but not totally sure about that.Depending on what date is being referenced it gets confusing alright. Like 16 September is easy to see as there are only 12 months in a year so MM/DD isn't confusing then. But when it's 11/9 are we talking 11 September or 9 November??

I'm not sure why you're mentioning birthdays Sabrina? I think Jordi was saying that very often the piece of information people don't know about the current calendar date is the day part but they know they are in June 2017 _ they've just forgotten whether it's the 26th or 27th or 28th

I'm confused by this. I think I'm not getting it. I was just referring to needing to plan an event or talk about a historical even rather than discussing the current date. But it's pretty common to not know to current day of the month if that what's you mean Jordi. What I'm getting at is that it's confusing when you're trying to organise an event and there are Americans involved (as I don't live there) because you don't know which dare system is being used. Are they using their own? or are they being conscientious and using mine. It's not the end of the world but it does get confusing.

How would u not know the day 😅 in the states 11/9 means November 9th. If u don't remember the day thats kind of messed up. Ur ID should show it. Birth dates are important. Lol
