i wasn't officially diagnosed until i was 23. i had no idea my behavior was a condition or something that could be fixed i thought it was just me until someone asked if i had it in college and i looked up the signs of adhd and it fit me to a T. once i realized what it was i realized lack of sleep/being tired definitely makes it worse. if you want to avoid meds make sure you get PLENTY OF SLEEP. i know it's scary to think of having to take meds everyday but i seriously wish i would have been diagnosed a long time ago! meds save me from a lot of stress of trying to focus and be productive on my own. i remember spending hours on homework in high school because anything and everything was a distraction to me. best of luck.

I have ADD, my little brother (not so little anymore, 17) has ADHD. 
It's all genetic. My mom, grandma and great grandfather have it. 
Nothing to worry about, you just need to know how to deal with it. You can leed a normal life. 
My great grandfather fought in war and became a cartoonist.
My grandmother is a retired pediatric nurse 
My mother is a support broker and manages 50 plus people lifes. Let alone her own chaotic life. 
I graduated college and became a Vet assistant. (In 3 days I'll be a mom) 
Having ADD, or even ADHD can help in many ways. 
Sometimes you can be amazing at multitasking. Your mind always wonder, so you can always find a topic to talk about. (Off topic topics are the best) 
Not everyone understands you and the ones who stick around to learn what you are talking about are the keepers.

I’ve been recently diagnosed late in life (34)after both of my kids were over a span of a couple of years.  One of them has a learning disability with it and the other doesn’t.  I don’t having a learning disability and he psychologist said she believe I had moderate ADHD...it finally feels like I found a missing puzzle piece that helps make so many things make sense.  I wish I would’ve known sooner, but I’m happy now I can learn ways to work on being healthier and minimizing the symptoms.  It definitely is hard to admit it bc there’s such a negative connotation with it, but I’m glad there is support out there!

I recently took my child to the doctor now they want to see if he can be evaluated due to lack of interest learning and forgets things like in seconds and he is very anxious and nervous all the time.
They gave me a former for his teacher to fill out also. What age where u diagnosed with how do u feel about it. My son is 11. I keep asking myself if its something I did or something I could of done to prevent it.

I have ADHD. I was diagnosed with it at 7 years old and had the "Ring Of Fire" which means I have both ADHD & Bipolar.
