Will you tell your baby's name to friends and relatives before it s born?

I just want your opnions on that , because I find it more common now some people will just keep it as a secret . Not the sex but just the name ... I thought keeping the sex as a secret was so much more of a suprise to everyone else than the name . Not judging , I just wanted to understand, maybe there is something behind it that I don't know ?

We're waiting til she's born for two reasons- one, just in case her name doesn't fit when we meet her, and two, we don't want anyone's opinion;)

Waiting until the baby is born for many reasons. 
1) I don't want anyone else's opinion on MY baby's name (mainly my MIL)
2) I live in a small town and it seems like everyone gets pregnant in 10's here and generally all with the same gender so I don't want someone taking my name. (5 Aliyahs were born last week) 
3) if I tell everyone the name and then they get me baby shower gifts or gifts in general with the baby's name or initials on them and then the baby is born and I don't feel like the name fits them, it'll be a waste of someone's time.

Definitely won't be sharing the name until baby is born. Everyone has different tastes and if you want to avoid unwanted opinions ornoffensive comments then don't tell the name. Once baby is here and has that name then others have no choice but to accept it.

We announced the name when we announced the gender. Now wishing we had only told family or just kept it a secret. Was approached last night by someone I am not friends with who is just 20wks. She is finding out the gender today and announced in the middle of the store that they've decided they liked our name so much they were just going to use it instead of trying to come up with their own!!

First baby we didn't know the gender and kept the names a secret.

This baby we found out the gender and are telling people his name. I don't need people to like his name but it's slightly annoying when people tell us they aren't crazy about the name or make a weird face!

My opinion, keep the name to yourself!

We are calling our little girl Poppie and refer to her by name all the time (I'm 22 weeks). We have just started telling people and to be honest I love it. We have had no unwanted opinions and for us I think it has helped with the connection and made everything so much more real. It just felt right for us, but to each their own. Hubby and I are terrible at keeping secrets (I think we get too excited 😊).

We have boy & girl name chosen but won't tell anyone until baby is born (the sex is a surprise too). I think the surprise will be nice, plus it's no-ones decision but ours-I don't want other people's opinions because it feels like they're picking on your baby because of the name.

I told a lot of people already, and I wish I hadn't. Now I'm constantly worried that someone will steal it and bummed that it won't be a surprise. It's hard for me to keep secrets when I'm so excited though!!!

Nope.  I don't want to give people the impression they have a say in the name.  Also, if we happen to have one of those "OMG (s)he is so not a..." moments, we are not tied to a name.

When I am pregnant we won't tell anyone the names we like as people always say things like 'I hate that name because I used to know someone with that name and they were horrible.' Also I don't think we'd find out gender before anyway and when we meet our baby we might decide that the names we chose don't suit our baby.
