castor oil??

Question

Did castor oil work for anybody ? Already 3cm dilated and just took 2 tablespoons.... ?! Really hoping this is a success cause I'm miserable and just want to meet my sugar foot? Do not tell me anything that is not positive I already know possible side effects...

I've always been advice not to cuz it crosses the placenta and can potentially make the baby pass the meconium in utero which can harm the baby pretty bad. 
Maybe call your dr or L&D and tell him/her that you took castor oil and see what he/she advices you.

No. There are no positive outcomes. Only risks but you know that and took it anyway. I second the idea to call L&D or your doctor and let them know you took it and how much and see what they advise.

If you know the possible side effects, then WHY risk your baby's health?? This is like the 3rd or 4th post on this in the past couple days. Castor oil is NOT safe for your baby.

If you are only looking for positive experiences this isn't the forum to get them. Most women have had bad experiences or been advised not to take it by their doctors. Did you ask your doctor what their opinion on taking it is? Mine said I could try but a tiny bit is the only safe amount and it wasn't enough to do anything.

I don't know why so many women on here are so judgemental about it.
It's your baby and your body and as long as your taking a safe amount and doing it under advisement of your midwife or doctor then I say do what you want to do.

Do the research if you feel comfortable with it then go for it love !

People need to be more respectful of other women's choices!

Most ppl commenting never even tried. I heard several successful stories friends and family members of mine tried it and worked within 5 to 8hrs.

I took it with my 6 year old on a Friday had diarrhea all day Saturday and started having contractions early Monday morning so I think it helped.
