37 weeks! Check?

Question

When did everyone start getting checked for dilation and effacement at their appointments!? I'll be 36+5 tomorrow when I see my doctor. Just wondering if she'll check me because I definitely feel like I'm progressing!

I'll get checked for the first time at my next appt, I will be 35w4d.

They check me every week since I started 34 weeks I'm 35 weeks 6 days now

My ob usually will check for the first time when they do the strep b swab at 36 weeks then it depends on the doctor and if you want checked.

Yup.. started getting checked weekly at 36 weeks. But before they do, sometimes it is routine in some doctors practice to do "membrane sweeping"  have a google search for the description of that if you are unfamiliar. They should not do that unless you have asked them to or if you have given concent. But some doctors do it anyway. And it's painful! Make sure you know if they do and tell them it's okay/not okay. Because like I said some just do it routinely and don't ask.

My dr said she starts around 37 weeks but she doesn't really even like to do it because it could jump

I started getting checked at 34 weeks. I'm 36 now an still nothing has changed an my cervix is still closed

Since I haven't been having any contractions, she said she's going to wait till 38 weeks to start checking.

Went to labor and delivery today for bloody discharge. They checked me and I'm 1cm 79% effaced and -2 station. Following up with my doctor tomorrow. Still having contractions so we will see if I've progressed any tomorrow. Have had 2 rounds of steroid shots for his lungs if he does decide to come early.

i got checked at my appointment when i was 36+5.  My CNM asked if i wanted checked and i said yes please! found out i'm 80% effaced.
