Family names.... Ya? Or Nay?

I'm just curious what other people think.

My first born is named after me and my grandmother

My sec first son is named after his dad and my grandad

My third / sec boy is named after his dad and my brother 
Jesus David 
And our. Any girl is named after my mom and mil

I come from an Italian family and family names are so common 😂 I have four uncle Jimmy's, three family member's with the name Phillip, and two cousins named Clara

Typically, in my family, we use family names as middle names... My middle names come from both of my grandmothers, my sons come from his dad and my dad, etc.

My boyfriend has a family middle name... Allen... so ugly 😩 it stops with him. Our children will NOT continue the madness! I think everyone deserves their own unique name like c'mon you couldn't have thought of anything better?

I don't have that in my family but my bf does.  His middle name is his dad's first name, and same with dad and his grandpa.  We talk about doing that once we eventually get married and have kids.

I'm Jewish. You can't do that in Judaism. Which is a bummer because I'd love to.

If I have a boy my husband's family always names the boy Paul but he goes by the middle name so he gets that and I get to pick all the names if we have a girl lol I used to hate the name Paul but over the last five years it's grown on me.
