Tissue sample for the doctor

My hospital notes asked me to save any tissue I passed in a clean container, and to drop it off at the doctor's office. I did so today, just in case. (Grey tissue.) has anyone else done this? If so, did the doctors determine any new information about the miscarriage from examining the tissue? Since I never even saw my embryo when they did the ultrasound, I can't help wondering what happened... As if knowing will lessen the sadness I feel. 😞
