Hot weather for summer need advice to keep baby cool at night

I want to use a fan but not sure. She sleeps uncomfortable at night when it's hot. She's in her diaper only and I dab a wash cloth on her, but it's not enough. Do you think a small fan would be ok? I need advice. I'm a tired and hard working mom.
