Birth control right after baby is born??

Question

So I'm 33 weeks and I really don't want to be pregnant again for a long time. (Like 3 years) 
My husband knows this. 
But he also does not want me on birth control while breastfeeding. 
(He knows what he's talking about and I'm not going to argue with him)

I'm planning on breastfeeding for at most a year. 
So my question is, during this year, besides condoms and pulling out, are there any other precaution methods you can do? 
I just really really don't want to be pregnant again for a few years. (Personal preference)

There are a few kinds of birth control that shouldn't effect breastfeeding, although I understand the non-hormonal stance. You could ask for a copper IUD. Those are no hormone, and long-term (at least long enough for what your looking for). Otherwise, I would start taking OPK's and tracking cycles as soon as you can. I was breastfeeding, and I still started my period exactly 5 weeks pp.
