first trimester superstition?

Does anyone really believe in the whole "don't buy anything for your baby in the first trimester or you might have a miscarriage" superstition?

I've bought one thing because I needed to have it and there was only one and it was on sale. Lol oops. I have faith my pregnancy will stick. God is taking great care of us.

I bought baby stuff for my daughter before I was 12 weeks.

I wouldn't buy stuff this early because I just think it's early, but if I saw something I couldn't resist then I would. I don't believe buying anything will influence the outcome of the pregnancy.

After my first miscarriage I just thought fuck it and I've been buying stuff no worries

I'm waiting until after the first sonogram at 9 weeks then we will start doing weekly purchases of diapers and other stuff to get used to that expense.  Also paying ourselves (savings) the 300/ week daycare bill.  Basically a test run for the cash flow to make sure we are still comfortable

I'm 6 weeks and 4 days, I lost my last baby at 12 weeks in September and I'm too scared to even look at baby stuff yet, I wish I could buy everything right now

Once we had our first ultrasound with our first baby (8 weeks) I went to target and bought oneis and socks...now he's a monster running around the house and trying to eat dog food...it's all fine hun!

I've had an unopened box of Dr.Brown's baby bottles i ordered off Amazon in our closet for the past 6 months. We began TTC in may and In pregnant.

So no. I wish I bought the Britax combo stroller & carseat. Now it's sold out and sold separately for $300 more.

I didn't care until after two miscarriages and I had bought stuff with both pregnancies so now I have a huge tub of baby stuff I can't get rid of bc I bought it for my other two babies and it's. It even the same size and season for this baby... oh well I just am

I'm the same. Just siting it out until I'm at least 10 weeks. Just don't want to be upset if anything happens. Best wishes to you
