Implant/Pregnant- should I take a pregnancy test?

I'm on day 53 since I had my last period. I recently got the implant on Jan 6, 2014. I had some spotting but nothing like a period like I usually have. My boyfriend and I have a lot of unprotected sex where he finishes in me. But still no period? Still have sore breasts and cramping on one side but  it lasts for a couple days and goes away. Any suggestions ladies?
