how do you think family/friends will react to your bfp?

I feel like we'll get more negative than positive because when we mentioned that we would like more kids, we got a lot of side eye stares and "why?" It's really annoying. So I've decided to wait until about week 16 or so tell anyone other than hubby. Trying to keep negativity at bay for as long as possible.

So my family would be devastated if I had a baby (I'm 22, last time I made an April joke about being pregnant my mom wanted me to drink abortion tea?!)
And my hubbys parents would be really happy for us.
I'm just not gonna have so much contact with my family and just focus on the people with positive energy, I hope you do the same! Screw people, just do you and that's all

I'm in the same boat as you. I have a daughter from a teenage pregnancy. My mom has told me since then (11 years ago) that I should never have any more children. Then I married my husband who has custody of his two kids from a previous relationship. All three of our kids are special needs. His family also thinks we don't need anymore on our plate. But my husband and I really really want a child that is our own. We do not feel complete. I am DREaDING the responses that I know we are going to get from family. I had a miscarriage almost a month ago at 10 weeks. My husband was so excited to tell his family, but I wouldn't let him (I believe in waiting until after the first trimester because of risk of MC). We still hadn't told anyone yet and still haven't. No one knows I was ever pregnant. I even felt/feel like I have to lie about my appointments and where I'm going just to keep it a secret. It's unfortunate because it is such a joyous and special event. We just need to deal with whatever response and hope that when the baby is born that they immediately fall in love and all of their reservations are put behind them. Good luck!!

My mum was so excited when she found out (I MCd at 7 weeks). I think as far as friends go, that they would be shocked. I've mostly dated other girls most my life, then I started traveling the country and met a guy, we've been together a year now. But he's not on any social media and I'm not on it often so not many people really know about us 😂
